On November 10th, a ‘community of communities’ gathered for Songs for All Souls. Neither a church service nor a concert (but a bit of both), this event included music, candle-lighting, poetry, and reflections to acknowledge the grief we carry long after someone has died. It was a warm and gentle gathering, made possible by the many contributions of musicians, readers, greeters, and spiritual care providers from our parish and Valley Hospice.
This parish is located in Mi'kma'ki, the traditional territory of the Mi'kmaq people. This territory is covered by the "Treaties of Peace and Friendship" which Mi'kmaq and Wolastoqiyik (Maliseet) People first signed with the British Crown in 1775.
