With Acadia University just down the street, an NSCC campus nearby, and Horton High only moments away, St. John’s is fortunate to have student musicians on our doorstep to participate in our musical worship, both as members of our choir and as guest musicians for individual services. To support student participation, St. John’s has established a bursary fund called the Choral Scholars Program. This fund enables us to bring in guest musicians, as well as several Choral Scholars to enhance our choir each year.
The Choral Scholars serve as section leaders and soloists in addition to assisting our music director, and are greatly appreciated by our choir and congregation.

"I feel so fortunate to have been welcomed into this church each week for the past couple of years. It's opened such a wonderful community that I didn't know I needed. It's also brought me a lot closer to God. As a student who's no longer in the Music School, I'm extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a Choral Scholar - it's helped me stay connected in the music community and given me an opportunity to keep singing every week."
