St. John’s held its Annual General Meeting on Sunday February 26 after a combined service at 10 am. The meeting started with a lovely compilation of music and pictures from the past year assembled by our WAV Manager, Meg Finlay.

The meeting progressed efficiently through Insurance, Investments and Finance Reports by the treasurer, Bob Wrye. A presentation of a narrative budget from 2022 showed where St John’s spends its money. After short presentations by Rev Nicole Uzans and Cameron Finlay, Warden, the Rector’s, Wardens’ and Annual Reports were all accepted. Nicole thanked outgoing members of the Parish Council, and presented the slate for the new year including new members Karen Padovani (Warden), Michelle Dobbin (Council member) and Linda Ellis (Council secretary). Special recognition of the Reverend Bruce Matthews was made by Nicole as Bruce has chosen to step back from the role of Honorary Assistant, although we will continue to see and hear from him regularly. He was presented with an original painting by Dr Ron Stuart. Bob Wrye was again named as Treasurer for the parish, and he introduced Gary Dunfield as our new book keeper. The AGM closed with a commissioning prayer for lay leaders, followed by the Grace and a hymn. It was an information-full and efficient meeting!
