She is the Pilgrimage Coordinator for Camino Nova Scotia, a program of AST, and a pilgrim in her own right, having walked the Camino de Santiago in 2019. Prior to ordination, Nicole developed a career in the arts, working variously as an arts instructor, curator, community arts animator, and painter. She is married to Penny Nelson, a minister in the United Church of Canada, and together they love vegetable gardening, ocean swimming, and hosting fabulous backyard bonfires.

🎶 We are always looking for more choristers; please email to get in touch!
Dr. Michelle Boyd has been the Director of Music at St. John’s since 2015. A pianist and organist, she has been involved in church music for as long as she can remember and greatly values the sense of community that comes from being in a church choir. Michelle is also an instructor in Acadia University’s School of Music (her alma mater), where she teaches courses in musicology and musicianship, directs the Acadia University Singers, and plays French horn in the Acadia Wind Ensemble. When she’s not rehearsing or teaching music, Michelle enjoys walking through Wolfville’s beautiful trails with her dog, Molly.
