Administrative Coordinator

St. John’s Anglican Church in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, is seeking a Administrative Coordinator. This part-time role will support several aspects of parish life and is frequently the first point of contact for parishioners and the public, both in-person and via the church website. As such, the Administrative Coordinator embodies the welcoming presence of St. John’s and serves as a key communicator for the Parish.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Format and copy weekly worship bulletins
  • Coordinate the schedule for those leading Sunday lay ministries
  • Maintain and update the church website and social media channels
  • Keep the online calendar of activities, meetings, and rentals up to date
  • Coordinate the booking and rental of church meeting spaces
  • Serve as Recording Secretary for Parish Council meetings and the Annual General Meeting of the parish
  • Ensure the efficient management and storage of Parish records, including parish lists, committee minutes, and archives
 
Qualifications:
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proven ability to produce accurate work and maintain the highest degree of confidentiality
  • Familiarity with Christian church environment: knowledge of the Anglican Church an asset
  • Relevant experience or education in office administration
  • Proficiency with basic administrative software (email, Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Competency in website management and graphic design using tools such as Weebly and Canva
  • A creative and proactive mindset, with a willingness to suggest improvements to communications and administrative processes
 
The Administrative Coordinator is a part-time salaried position of 10 hours/week with compensation of $900/month. While there is much flexibility for remote work, the Administrative Coordinator will work at least one regularly scheduled part day per week on location at St. John’s.
