Hosting Hope

Community Conversation at St John's
What does church mean to you? What are we called to do now?
What laments do you have about the state of the Church?

And what gives you hope?
Picture
St. John’s Parish Council invites you to join in a discussion of these questions at a series of community events. Everyone with a connection to the parish is invited & encouraged to attend. We need your voice at the table!

Sign up for one event at the back of the church or by emailing [email protected]

Monday, Nov 10th, 5:30-7:30pm
Wednesday, Nov 12th, 5:30-7:30pm
Saturday, Nov 15th, 10:30am-12:30pm

Following a short, facilitated discussion, we’ll share in a potluck meal, so bring an appetizer, salad, main dish, or dessert you enjoy.

About the image: This logo was created for the Diocesan Synod held in May, 2025, under the theme, “Therefore, we have HOPE”. Bishop Sandra Fyfe wrote, “The logo, designed by Leah Marshall, presents images of a seed breaking forth to produce what will eventually become a tree and, finally, a stump. We see how the tree that emerged from a tiny seed becomes the source of new life, even after it has been cut down. We are reminded that even as we embrace change and the death of some of what we have known in the life of the Church, life still bursts forth. We are a people who believe in the resurrection of the dead, and life everlasting.”
